Dance recital

Air show

WE left the house a bit after 9 to go to the airshow. It was raining, but we live far enough from the airfield that it could not be raining there. The show was supposed to start at 11 but finally got underway at 12:30 because of all of the rain. It was a really good show. It went until 5. We got drenched for a second time around 4:30. Then they carried on with the show.
I can't believe that the kids actually sat there that long. Trent was really cute....he kept saying wow!

Piano, swim and strawberry picking

The girls had their first piano lesson today. They liked it...well, Lexie liked it. Abbey said it was a bit boring. She really is at the beginning of the book though so I am sure that it will get more fun.
I went to sign up 3 kids for swimming with Lexie pledging to walk with me every morning. I walked out after having signed up all 4 for lessons. :D This is a big praise for me. Erik said that Lexie could take lessons at 9am-10am. Since he teaches the level 4, he said he can teach other levels too. So starting Monday the kids will all swim M-F for the next 8 weeks.
So we got home and ate dinner then the kids and I were off to the strawberry patch. We picked 6 quarts. I figure we will go back on Monday to pick more. The kids had such a good time. :)

Humperfloobs

So I am making lunch and the kids are sitting at the table. Abbey says that you're hired and then turns to the next one and says you're fired. Then she says Humperfloob is hired and Humperfloob is fired. She went on and on about hiring and firing the Humperfloobs. Then she turns to me and says, "If someone walked in right now they would think that I was hiring and firing! That wouldn't be good." So I say, "Well as soon as they heard that you were talking about Humperfloobs they would know that you were playing." It didn't phase her at all. She didn't get why talking about Humperfloobs would be a clear indication that she was playing. Perhaps we read a few too many Dr Suess books. :D

I've been at it again

We went to the butterfly gardens at the Children's museum. I got some nice photos so I decided to play with a couple of them.

Dance rehearsal

I got some pics at the rehearsal. I don't know if I will be able to get any more at the show. You know....rude people stand up in front of you and stuff like that.

Brayden's surgery

Brayden went in for his surgery at 3:15. He did great. The dr fixed everything up in about 2 hours. Brayden woke up happy and ate 3 popsicles right away. He wanted more, but they wouldn't get him more. We stopped twice on the way home to buy him another popsicle. He seems to be doing very well. He got really tired today, and I convinced him to go to bed an hour early.

The hotel

We stayed at Holiday Inn right by the hospital. They had a nice pool. The kids and Jay had a lot of fun.

Rochester children's museum

WE went to the Strong Children's Museum in Rochester on Thursday. We had a really nice day.

Neighbor's fire

Mr Berry's business went up in flames last night. No one was injured, but the business is a complete loss. Eleven fire departments were called in.

swim team

So I called around yesterday to find out all of the details of the swim team on post. I decided to take Abbey and Lexie to try it out tonight. We went to the library first to return some books, and Abbey threw up in the library. We got her cleaned up and sent her home with Jay.
I still took Lexie to the swim team practice. It was a full hour of down and back. Lexie got tired. She did extremely well though considering that she hasn't swam continuously like that. I think that the coach was impressed too. I will take Lexie 1-2 more times for her to decide whether she likes it or not. She didn't love it at the end today. If she decides against it, well then at least she tried it out. The youngest kids are 9 right now. I think that Abbey needs more practice before jumping in with them. I might take her ready to swim one day and talk to the coach beforehand because according to what they told me, she only has to be able to swim the front crawl an entire lap without stopping. Abbey can certainly do that.

Gymnastics recital

Today was the gymnastics recital. Trent was sick yesterday and today though so he didn't get to participate.

Abbey and Brayden both did a great job. I took some pics, but they are a bit fuzzy.

The piano

This is our new piano. We are still deciding who we want to give lessons to the girls. They will probably start next week once we decide.

Brayden swimming

This one is Brayden doing his bobs.

This is Trent with the blue googles on. He is level 1b now. That is also Brayden with the orange noodle in the bottom of the picture.

Lexie's eye appt and piano

So, we were at the eye dr's for 1 1/2 hours. The dr said that other than being very dry, Lexie's eyes look fine. The pressure was very good in both eyes today.
After that, we went looking for new patio doors and for a piano. We ended up buying one. It is a digital piano. The kids are all very excited. Jay and I now have to decide about lessons. We have 2 possible teachers. One is premier in the area and will fill up fast. One is cheaper and a good teacher too. Jay and I have to decide then sign the kids up. :)

End of another swim session

Yesterday was the last day of this session of swim. All of the kids report cards are great. Abbey just needs to perfect the 3 stroke, and she will move to level 5. Brayden has to work on making his arms go up out of the water then they will move him to level 3. Trent needs to work on putting his face in the water then he will move to level 2. Lexie can practice the butterfly stroke. :) They all had a lot of fun. Hopefully I will be able to take them for summer swimming. I am still waiting to get a schedule. I think that the kids lessons are going to be at different times. :( I was hoping to have all 4 in lessons at the same time, and I would walk during that time.

Jay's disappointment

The promotion list came out for July. They promoted 2000. Jay missed the promotion by 79 this time. He is praying that he will make it in August. He is tired of having to penny pinch, and this promotion would finally allow him some freedoms.

big swim day

Lexie had a big night at swim. The swim teacher had her diving for 10-20lb bricks off of the bottom of the pool-10 ft deep. She got 2 and carried them to the top. Needless to say, she was tired after swimming.
Brayden, Trent and Abbey are all doing great at swimming too.

Princess Abbey

Abbey is dancing to Cinderells and Pochantas for ballet this year. The crown and wand came with the costume.
