Swim
The kids all swam tonight. :) Trent moved to level 1b. Brayden stays in level 2. Abbey stays in level 4. Her teacher says that she is doing great. Lexie is still in 6+ as there is nothing higher. The next 2 weeks, the kids swim M-Th evenings. Then they will start M-F mornings.
I expect to see Abbey doing really well and Brayden too.

Have boxes; will move
Well in the Army we all know that nothing is set in stone. So as of today, we are leaving NY in 2-6 months. Jay should know where we are off to soon (2 weeks or less).
I have the realtor coming today or tomorrow to look things over and give us an idea about how much we can list for and anything that we need to paint or whatever.

Spelling Bee
Lexie and Abbey participated in a homeschool spelling bee today to see who would represent homeschoolers at the Jefferson County Spelling Bee in July. Lexie placed 3rd in 3-5 grades. She will be going to the fair to spell. Abbey got 2nd place in 1-2 grade. She will be spelling at the fair as well.
Lexie had an exciting time taking the mail out today. She got stung by a wasp, and when she came inside to show me it, she got stung on her back. The wasp was in her shirt. I am just thankful that she isn't severely allergic like Abbey though it did hurt her a lot.

Jay finally got his belongings that he shipped home from Afghanistan. Praise the Lord! All of that gear and uniforms are very expensive to replace.
Abbey had her first swim lesson in level 4 tonight. It went well.

Jay and I are officially going to the Ball on May 30. I still have to find shoes that I can tolerate for about 7 hours.
I called Dr Dhawan today to see if it would be okay for me to use an elliptical. Jay said that he would buy me a one once we got his travel pay. Well, Dr Dhawan doesn't work there anymore. I did get his new office phone. I called it and Dr answered it himself. He really doesn't want me using an elliptical until he sees me again. So he made an appt for me on June 5. He told me to make sure that I brought the kids with me. :) He said that he still has their drawings that they made for him on his walls in his new office.
I took the kids to the pool this morning. Abbey got to go down the slide for the first time. She loved it! Lexie swam laps only using her arms and beat the lifeguard that was in the pool doing laps.
We are all doing well. I need to write school reports for the end of the school year. We are for all intensive purposes done for the year. WE finished Bible, History, Read Alouds, and Readers this week. The kids will still do math and some Language Arts a few times each week until we start our next school year. I am thinking about starting in July. It gets so hot and miserable that time of year so we might as well start our school year. We are doing the second half of American History next year. So that would be from 1850 to the present. Brayden is going to be doing an Intro to World History next year. Trent will probably listen to all of Brayden's readings. He likes to do school too.
Starting June 2 the kids are going to swim 4 nights a week for a couple of weeks then hopefully they will all swim 5 mornings a week for the rest of the summer. I am giving Brayden "treats" for going to swimming without a fuss. He will be earning stickers for his chart to go to Chuck E Cheese too. He also gets once a week a donut from Dunkin Donuts after class.
The gymnastics recital is June 16. The dance recital is June 23.

IOWA test results
We just received the girls test results from the IOWA basics that they took at the school. Again, Lexie did terrific. She got 99th percentile in Reading Comprehension and Math Prob Solving. Her other scores were all very high too. According to the results, she is almost 7th grade reading and 6th grade math.
Abbey apparently mixed up her answer blocks on the Math computation part and scored 10th percentile. Overall her math is still 65th percentile even with that really low section. She did well in reading too. She scored 78th percentile in those.
I think that their scores are great especially since we don't do anything to prepare for the tests. I don't even know what format it is to go over that with them.

Last night was the final night of AWANA to say verses. Trent finished his book. Brayden said a review verse. Lexie said one verse because she finished her book 2 weeks ago. Abbey said a ton of verses and finished her workbook. :)

The kids were all looking forward to leaving the house and going to swim. Trent went and had fun. Brayden wouldn't get into the pool. Abbey went and moved up to level 4. Lexie went and had a terrible time. She should have told her teacher she wasn't feeling well midway through class. I thought that she just wasn't listening. She is definitely still recovering.

The kids are all actually eating again. I count this as a good sign. Abbey has an earache though. Back to the pediatrician's office we will go today. Lexie slept through the night for the first time in over a week. Brayden and Lexie are still wheezing though despite being on oral steroids.

I thought that I would start this to keep track of where we have been. It is surely much easier to see God's grace and mercy that he bestows upon us daily in retrospect.
Today I have 3 kids with pneumonia, 1 with an ear infection, 1 with strep throat and a sick husband.
